At Wal-Mart we understand Sustainability as a way of life that does not jeopardize our existence, the existence of future generations and nature itself. Thus, we have set four objectives to achieve before 2025:

• Use 100% renewable sources for energy
• Generate zero wastes
• Offer 25% of our catalogue with sustainable products
• Generate zero pollutant discharges

So as to ensure this strategy and its objectives, Wal-Mart de Mexico established four sustainability networks as follows:

Coordinate all the work between departments and with suppliers with:

• Rational use of energy
• Store design
• Purchasing of environmentally-friendly merchandise
• Wastes management
• Low water and fuel consumption
• Reduction of packages and crates
• Use of recyclable and biodegradable materials
