El Porton will offer 6 traditional Oaxaca cuisine dishes in the 89 restaurants nationwide, as part of its most recent campaign "Typical Food from Oaxaca”, starting from January 8 and ending on February 8.

"This initiative expresses the interest El Porton has to bring the gastronomic delicacies of Oaxaca to all our customers throughout the country, to enjoy them with the kindness and flavor that characterizes us as a restaurant. We are convinced that Oaxaca cuisine is one of the best in the world, and together with its cultural and historical heritage of the state, they make of this state one of the richest one in the world”, stated Raul Argüelles, Wal-Mart de Mexico Senior Vice-president for Corporate Affairs.

All the dishes part of "Typical Food from Oaxaca” have been adapted by the chefs at El Portón restaurant from traditional Oaxaca recipes, supervised by chef Julio César Flores, who aside from having wide knowledge of the regional cuisine, is also the owner of a widely known restaurant in the capital city of Oaxaca.

Additionally, the 89 El Porton restaurants will become promoters of the state of Oaxaca as a tourist destination, decorating their facilities with banners, posters, placemats, cards, flyers and other graphic materials to introduce the archeological, historical and beach sites to our customers, as well as all the other natural beauties that have made Oaxaca world famous.
