Wal-Mart de Mexico announced the opening of seven self-service stores in August. These openings created over 1,600 permanent and 2,855 temporary jobs.

The new units are located in Nuevo Leon, Puebla, Sinaloa, Queretaro, Tamaulipas, State of Mexico, and Mexico City.

Also in August, a new distribution center opened in Culiacan, Sinaloa. The new center processes 200,000 cases daily, and receives 5,270 trailers a month to load and unload dry goods.

“With these new units, we stress our commitment of contributing towards improving the quality of life for Mexican families by providing quality items at affordable prices in a greater number of stores”, said Raul Argüelles, Sr. VP of Corporate Affairs and People Division for Wal-Mart de Mexico.
