During November and December, Wal-Mart de Mexico Foundation carried out five social support programs nationwide, with the participation of over 800 Wal-Mart de Mexico units, benefiting 218,587 low income children and elderly people during December festivities, who received toys, balls, winter clothes, staple items and Christmas dinners.
These year end programs of the Wal-Mart Foundation are part of the nationwide “Give a smile away” campaign, with the participation of Wal-Mart Supercenter, Bodega Aurrerá, Superama, Sam’s Club, Suburbia, and Vips y El Portón Restaurants, by means of the following activities during November and December 2007:
I. Adopt a child or elderly person to give them a gift this Christmas
II. Donation of Christmas dinners for every package of food bought at the restaurants
III. Delivery of food baskets per piece of winter clothing donated
IV. Delivery of toys per picture taken with Santa bought at the warehouse clubs.
V. Delivery of balls to toys in Jalisco. |
